A quick explanation around the UI and Operation
Aug 2026
Back to Pico Wifi Analyzer Phase 1
Introduction
If you have loaded the Python code in to Thonny and run it, then your Wifi Analyzer should be running, and look a little like what we have below:
There are some lines of text on the screen, and they are:
- Wifi Analyzer - Just a title, you can change this in the code, in fact you can change any of the text.
- Last: This was the time that the last scan occured.
- Linksys - This is my Linksys router, change the line in the software for your router
- Draytek- This is my Draytek router, change the line in the software for your router
- Linksys: 111 - Three scans have occurred, all successfuly. We show the result of the last 5 scans.
- Draytek: 1×1 - Here there were three scans, but one failed.
- Status - Either says 'Done' or 'Scanning' if a scan is in progress
- Next: 1m - Time until next automatic scan.
There are two buttons above the Pico:
- The button on the right is a 'Manual Scan' button - Press this to invoke and immediate scan. This does not interrupt the scheduled 15 minute scan
- The Left hand button is a reset, in case the Pico becomes unresponsive.
There is a Green LED on the left of the Pico:
- A solid Green means everything is good (from the Analyzers perspective)
- A flashing LED means that one or all of the SSIDs has failed. On the next test, if all SSIDs pass, light will go back to solid green.
