Raspberry Pi Pico Initial Setup

Introduction
If you have a brand new Raspberry Pi Pico, or perhaps one that you have had for a long time and have not used, then you should follow this short guide. The Pico will be completely blank, so will not do anything until you have done some basic configuration steps.
Like anything, the Pico needs some kind of operating system, and this is what we must copy over first, in the form of a firmware file.
